What happened to the luca App?

The Original luca App

The luca App was developed in 2020 as a digital solution for contact tracing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal was to track infection chains more quickly and efficiently, thereby relieving the burden on public health authorities and the hospitality industry, which had to meet new requirements due to the pandemic. Users could check in at restaurants, events, or other public venues using a QR code. In the event of an infection, relevant data could be securely and confidentially transmitted in encrypted form to the responsible health authority — in full compliance with data protection regulations.

Even during the pandemic, we continuously evolved luca together with operators and event organizers, adding new features that connected restaurants, cafés, and hotels with their guests.Today, luca has grown into an AI-powered guest experience platform for the entire hospitality industry.
One key element is the digital concierge: from booking a table, checking in and out of hotels, placing orders, sending messages to the front desk, or making payments — all of this is possible with luca in a simple, digital way, and without needing to download an app.
